Tafseer Surah Zukhruf - Lecture Number 3

This is the third lecture in the tafseer series of Surah Zukhruf, delivered by Mufti Zubair Ashraf Usmani at Jamia Masjid Bait ul Mukarram, Karachi.

In this lecture, he explains how Prophet Ibrahim (AS) stood firmly against shirk, even when it meant opposing his own father, family, tribe, and the society around him.

Despite strong resistance, he remained clear, respectful, and consistent in دعوت towards the oneness of Allah, showing both courage and wisdom in his approach.

As a result of this sincerity and firmness, Allah purified the lineage of Ibrahim (AS) from shirk and blessed it by sending Prophet Muhammad ﷺ from among his offspring.

Mufti Zubair Sahab then brings this lesson into our lives. If someone holds influence within a family, whether as a parent, elder, or guardian, they carry a responsibility.

Many people today remain silent when they see clear sins within their homes, even when they have the authority to speak. This silence itself becomes a serious matter, as they will be questioned by Allah for not guiding those under their care.

The lecture stresses that one must take a clear stand, discourage wrongdoing, and guide family members toward what is right, just as Ibrahim (AS) did.
