Hazrat Maulana Shah Hakeem Muhammad Akhtar Sahab RA was a towering Islamic scholar, spiritual guide, and the founder of Jamia Ashraf ul Madaris and Khanqah Imdadia Ashrafiya in Karachi — one of Pakistan's most prominent centres of Islamic learning and Tasawwuf. He was a disciple of Hazrat Maulana Abdul Ghani Phulpuri RA, whose spiritual lineage traces back through Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi RA to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He guided thousands of seekers from Pakistan, India, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and beyond on the path of Tasawwuf, and his Khalifas continue to serve Muslims across the world. His prolific legacy includes hundreds of recorded bayans and dozens of books and poetry collections. He passed away in 2013, but his teachings, through his students and recordings, continue to illuminate hearts.
