The Second Dua of Arafah Day

🌙 Dua (Arabic)

اَللّٰهُمَّ ‌إِنَّكَ ‌تَسْمَعُ كَلَامِيْ وَتَرٰى مَكَانِيْ وَتَعْلَمُ سِرِّيْ وَعَلَانِيَتِيْ لَا يَخْفٰى عَلَيْكَ شَيْءٌ مِّنْ أَمْرِيْ وَأَنَا الْبَائِسُ الْفَقِيْرُ الْمُسْتَغِيْثُ الْمُسْتَجِيْرُ الْوَجِلُ الْمُشْفِقُ الْمُقِرُّ الْمُعْتَرِفُ بِذَنْبِهٖ، أَسْأَلُكَ مَسْأَلَةَ الْمِسْكِيْنِ وَأَبْتَهِلُ إِلَيْكَ ابْتِهَالَ الْمُذْنِبِ الذَّلِيْلِ وَأَدْعُوْكَ دُعَاءَ الْخَائِفِ الضَّرِيْرِ وَدُعَاءَ مَنْ خَضَعَتْ لَكَ رَقَبَتُهٗ وَفَاضَتْ لَكَ عَبْرَتُهُ وَذَلَّ جَسَدُهٗ وَرَغِمَ لَكَ أَنْفُهٗ، اَللّٰهُمَّ لَا تَجْعَلْنِيْ بِدُعَائِكَ شَقِيًّا وَكُنْ بِيْ رَؤُوْفًا رَّحِيْمًا يَا خَيْرَ الْمَسْئُولِيْنَ وَيَا خَيْرَ الْمُعْطِيْنَ

🔤 Transliteration

Allahumma innaka tasma‘u kalāmī wa tarā makānī wa ta‘lamu sirrī wa ‘alāniyatī, lā yakhfā ‘alayka shay’un min amrī.

Wa ana al-bā’isu al-faqīru al-mustaghīthu al-mustajīru al-wajilu al-mushfiq, al-muqirru al-mu‘tarifu bidhambih. As’aluka mas’alata al-miskīn, wa abtahilu ilayka ibtihāla al-mudhnibi adh-dhalīl.

Wa ad‘ūka du‘ā’a al-khā’ifi adh-dharīr, wa du‘ā’a man khaḍa‘at laka raqabatuhu wa fāḍat laka ‘abrātuhu wa dhalla jasaduhu wa raghima laka anfuh.

Allahumma lā taj‘alnī bidu‘ā’ika shaqiyyan, wa kun bī ra’ūfan raḥīman, yā khayra al-mas’ūlīn wa yā khayra al-mu‘ṭīn.

Urdu Translation

اے اللہ! بے شک تو میری بات سنتا ہے، میرا ٹھکانہ دیکھتا ہے، اور میرے ظاہر و باطن کو جانتا ہے۔ میری کوئی بات تجھ سے چھپی ہوئی نہیں۔

اور میں ایک بے حال، محتاج، فریاد کرنے والا، پناہ مانگنے والا، ڈرنے والا، گھبرایا ہوا، اپنے گناہوں کا اقرار کرنے والا ہوں۔

میں تجھ سے سوال کرتا ہوں جیسے ایک مسکین سوال کرتا ہے، اور تیرے حضور گڑگڑاتا ہوں جیسے ایک گناہگار ذلیل بندہ گڑگڑاتا ہے۔

میں تجھے اس شخص کی طرح پکارتا ہوں جو خوفزدہ اور بے بس ہو، اور اس کی طرح جس کی گردن تیرے آگے جھک گئی ہو، جس کی آنکھوں سے آنسو بہہ رہے ہوں، جس کا جسم تیرے سامنے عاجز ہو گیا ہو، اور جس کی ناک تیرے سامنے خاک میں مل گئی ہو۔

اے اللہ! مجھے اپنی دعا کے ذریعے بدبخت نہ بنا، اور میرے ساتھ نرمی اور رحم کا معاملہ فرما، اے سب سے بہتر جس سے سوال کیا جائے اور اے سب سے بہتر عطا کرنے والے۔

Explanation of the Dua

This dua captures the real روح (spirit) of the Day of Arafah.

On this day, millions stand in Arafah with nothing—no status, no titles, no pride. Just انسان اور اُس کا رب. This dua puts you in that exact state, even if you’re not physically there.

Look closely.

This dua is not asking for wealth, success, or even specific حاجات.

It starts with recognition: “You hear me… You see me… You know everything about me.”

That’s the foundation of Arafah.

You don’t need to convince Allah. You just need to show up honestly.

Then the tone shifts.

The person breaks down their ego completely:

• I am poor
• I am helpless
• I am afraid
• I admit my sins

This is powerful.

On Arafah, Allah loves this state. Not perfection… but brokenness with sincerity.

Then comes the most important part

The way you ask.

Not like someone deserving.

But like:

• a beggar
• a sinner
• a desperate person
• someone crying

This is exactly what scholars explain:

The value of dua is not just in words… it’s in the haal (inner condition).

This dua teaches you how to ask.

And finally

Instead of listing demands, the person says “Don’t make me unfortunate in my dua.”

Meaning:

Don’t reject me. Don’t let me walk away empty.

And ends with: “You are the best to ask… and the best to give.”

The Core Lesson

On the Day of Arafah:

• It’s not about what you ask
• It’s about how deeply you turn to Allah

This dua trains you to:

• drop ego
• admit ضعف (weakness)
• feel true need
• connect with sincerity

And that’s exactly why Arafah is the day when duas are most accepted.
