Urdu Translation
اللّٰہ پاک ہے، اور تمام تعریفیں اللّٰہ ہی کیلئے ہیں، اور اللّٰہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، اور اللّٰہ سب سے بڑا ہے۔
اور گناہوں سے بچنے کی طاقت اور نیکی کرنے کی قوت نہیں مگر اللّٰہ بلند و عظمت والے کی توفیق سے۔
English Translation
Glory be to Allah, and all praise belongs to Allah. There is no god except Allah, and Allah is the Greatest.
And there is no power to avoid sin and no strength to do good except through Allah, the Most High, the Most العظيم.
Explanation and Virtues of the Third Kalma
The Third Kalimah is known as Kalimah Tamjeed, meaning the “Statement of Glorification.” It is one of the most beautiful collections of dhikr in Islam because almost every phrase in it is beloved to Allah and repeatedly mentioned in the Quran and Hadith.
The kalimah begins with:
“SubhanAllah”
which means Allah is completely pure and free from every weakness, imperfection, or flaw.
Then comes:
“Alhamdulillah”
which teaches a believer to praise Allah for every blessing, whether visible or hidden.
Next:
“La ilaha illallah”
the greatest declaration of Tawheed, affirming that nobody deserves worship except Allah alone.
Then:
“Allahu Akbar”
meaning Allah is greater than every fear, problem, desire, difficulty, kingdom, or power.
The kalimah ends with:
“La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah”
which is among the treasures of Jannah mentioned in Hadith. It reminds a believer that true strength, guidance, and ability come only from Allah. A person cannot stay away from sin or perform good deeds without Allah’s help and tawfeeq.
Virtues of the Third Kalimah
The phrases in this kalimah carry immense rewards in Hadith:
- The Prophet ﷺ said these words are among the most beloved words to Allah.
- “SubhanAllah walhamdulillah” fill the scales with reward.
- “La ilaha illallah” is the foundation of Islam and the key to Jannah.
- “La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah” is described as a treasure from the treasures of Paradise.
This kalimah is therefore not just a phrase to memorize. It is a complete expression of:
- Tawheed,
- praise,
- humility,
- dependence upon Allah,
- and remembrance of Allah.
Many Muslims recite it daily in their adhkar because it softens the heart, increases reward, and keeps a person connected to Allah throughout the day.
