The Main Themes and Topics Covered in This Juzz/Para of the Holy Quran

Para 18, known as Qad Aflaha, begins by describing successful believers. They pray with humility, avoid useless speech, fulfil their charitable duty, guard chastity, honour trusts, keep promises, and maintain their prayers.

These qualities connect inward faith with disciplined conduct. Surah Al-Mu’minun recalls human creation and Allah’s provision through rain, plants, and animals.

Accounts of earlier messengers show a repeated pattern: the call to worship Allah is met by denial from people attached to wealth, status, and inherited customs. The surah rejects the idea that prosperity always means divine approval.

True believers remain concerned about whether their deeds are accepted. Its closing passages describe death, resurrection, and the regret of those who ask too late for another opportunity to act righteously.

Surah An-Nur gives guidance for protecting chastity, family life, and public morality. It addresses unlawful sexual relations, false accusations, and the procedure concerning accusations between spouses.

The account of the slander against Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) teaches believers not to spread unverified allegations. People are instructed to think well of fellow believers and recognise the seriousness of circulating indecency.

Forgiveness and continued generosity are encouraged, even after painful personal wrongs. The para also teaches permission before entering homes, lowering the gaze, modest dress, and support for marriage.

Rules about privacy within households protect dignity at different times of day. The passage concerning Allah’s light directs attention to guidance, worship, and hearts devoted to Him.

Obedience to Allah and His Messenger is presented as the mark of genuine belief. Social manners include proper conduct in the Prophet’s presence and responsible participation in communal affairs.

Surah Al-Furqan begins by affirming the Quran’s divine source and answering objections to a human messenger. The para closes by describing messengers as people who ate food and walked in markets, while remaining Allah’s chosen guides.

Selected tafsir references (Ma’ariful Qur’an): 23:1; 24:11; 24:27; 25:1.
