The Main Themes and Topics Covered in This Juzz/Para of the Holy Quran

Para 26, known as Ha Meem, opens with Surah Al-Ahqaf and its call to recognise revelation and worship Allah alone. It praises kindness to parents and includes a prayer for gratitude, righteous deeds, and the wellbeing of one’s descendants.

The fate of the people of ‘Ad warns against confidence in strength and prosperity. A group of jinn listens to the Quran, accepts its truth, and returns to warn its people.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is instructed to remain patient like the resolute messengers before him. Surah Muhammad contrasts faith and rejection in the setting of conflict.

It addresses conduct towards captives, exposes hypocrisy, and calls believers to obedience and generosity. Attachment to wealth must not prevent fulfilment of duty.

Surah Al-Fath describes the clear victory associated with Hudaybiyyah. It highlights Allah’s tranquillity upon the believers, the pledge beneath the tree, and the fulfilment of the Prophet’s vision.

Trust in Allah is required even when immediate circumstances appear disappointing. Surah Al-Hujurat provides guidance for a respectful community.

Believers must honour the Prophet, verify reports, reconcile disputes, and maintain brotherhood. Mockery, insulting names, suspicion, spying, and backbiting are prohibited.

Differences of peoples and tribes are for mutual recognition, while true honour before Allah depends on taqwa. The surah also distinguishes a verbal claim of belief from faith firmly established in the heart.

Surah Qaf answers doubts about resurrection through signs in creation. It describes Allah’s knowledge, the recording angels, death, and the final gathering.

Every person’s deeds will be brought forward, leaving no refuge in denial. The opening of Surah Adh-Dhariyat contrasts the fate of rejecters with the reward of those who worship, seek forgiveness, and give the needy their due.

Ibrahim’s honoured guests bring news of a son. Across the para, faith requires patience, truthful conduct, disciplined speech, and remembrance of the Hereafter.

Selected tafsir references (Ma’ariful Qur’an): 46:15; 48:1; 49:11; 50:16.
