Para 5, known as Wal Muhsanat, continues Surah An-Nisa with guidance on marriage, family responsibilities, justice, and communal life. Its opening passages explain lawful marriage and financial obligations towards wives, while directing believers towards chastity and away from unlawful relationships.

The para prohibits taking another person’s wealth unjustly and permits trade conducted by mutual agreement. It warns against killing and self-destruction, and teaches that Allah accepts repentance.

Believers are also discouraged from envying the advantages Allah has given others. Family life receives detailed attention, including responsibilities within marriage and the appointment of representatives when serious conflict threatens a household.

Worshipping Allah alone is joined with kindness to parents, relatives, orphans, needy people, neighbours, travellers, and those under one’s care. Instructions about prayer include purification and tayammum when its conditions apply.

The para also addresses prayer during travel and danger, showing the continuing importance of salah even under difficult circumstances. Worship remains central to a believer’s life rather than being set aside whenever circumstances become demanding.

A major theme is justice. Trusts must be returned to their rightful owners, and judgments must be fair.

Believers are directed to obey Allah and His Messenger and to refer disputes to their guidance. Hypocrisy is exposed through attempts to avoid divine judgment while claiming loyalty.

Passages dealing with conflict require careful judgment, including verification before treating someone as an enemy. The rights of vulnerable people and the responsibility to resist oppression are also highlighted.

Deliberate and accidental killing are distinguished, with serious consequences attached to each. The closing sections insist on standing firmly for justice, even against oneself, parents, or relatives.

Wealth, poverty, personal attachment, and hostility must not distort testimony. The para warns against divided religious loyalties and empty displays of worship, while leaving the door of repentance open to those who sincerely reform.
