The Main Themes and Topics Covered in This Juzz/Para of the Holy Quran

Para 19, known as Wa Qalallazina, begins with demands made by those who reject revelation. Their insistence on seeing angels or Allah reflects arrogance rather than a sincere search for guidance.

Surah Al-Furqan contrasts their attitude with the reality of the Day of Judgment. The surah describes the regret of those who followed harmful companions and abandoned the Messenger’s path.

Signs in shade, rain, the sea, and the alternation of night and day invite people to recognise Allah’s wisdom and power. Its closing passage portrays the servants of the Most Merciful.

They walk humbly, respond peacefully to provocation, worship at night, and spend without extravagance or miserliness. They avoid shirk, murder, unlawful sexual relations, false testimony, and heedlessness towards revelation.

Repentance remains open to those who turn back, believe, and act righteously. The believers’ prayers for their spouses and descendants show concern for faith within the family as well as personal reform.

Surah Ash-Shu’ara recounts the missions of Musa, Ibrahim, Nuh, Hud, Salih, Lut, and Shu’ayb. Across these accounts, messengers call their people to fear Allah and obey, without seeking payment for their message.

The repeated rejection of the prophets exposes pride, oppression, corrupt desire, and commercial dishonesty. Shu’ayb’s people are specifically warned against short measure and spreading corruption.

The surah also distinguishes revelation from the misleading speech of irresponsible poets. Surah An-Naml begins with the Quran’s guidance and then recounts Musa’s calling and the knowledge granted to Dawud and Sulayman.

Sulayman’s encounter with the ant teaches gratitude for Allah’s favours. The hoopoe’s report leads to the account of the Queen of Saba, whose recognition of the truth ends in submission to Allah.

Accounts of Salih and Lut follow, contrasting faithful acceptance with destructive plotting and immorality. The para closes by praising Allah and questioning the worth of false gods.

Selected tafsir references (Ma’ariful Qur’an): 25:63; 26:1; 26:181; 27:20.
